Read about the huge chunk of ice (about 7 times the size of Manhattan) that collapsed in Western Antarctica today. Apparently, larger ice collapses occurred in 2002 and 1995, but this is clearly not normal. Scientists do not appear concerned that it will have an immediate effect on rising sea levels, but certainly see it as a sign of global warming. It will be interesting to see if this creates any sort of chain reaction.
